new beginnings

it all started bright and early. excitement, anticipation, new shoes, clothes laid out the night before, lunches packed and off they go. i will miss them! my home is quiet, i think about them. did he get his locker open? are her friends happy to see her? did she drive safely? did they sit together on the bus? i hope his teacher is patient. oh how i love these shiny back-to-school faces. in a few hours our home will be jumping, noisy, full. i look forward to hearing about the firsts this day brings.

here miss lydia thinks she is getting on the bus with her brothers.
so sad to see them go off without her.

Oh my goodness, that picture of Lydia breaks my heart. Love all these pictures, Al! You have a way of capturing the excitement of the first day of school.

Oh Alison! I love ALL of these so much. That one of Lydia, so full of hope and excitement....only to scroll down a little further to see her broken heart displayed all over her face. That kills me! She is so precious. So exciting for all of them! At least the other five :)

Great shots! Even though I wasn't there I kind of feel like i was.

Of course Lydia's backpack is perfect. It's pretty great that all of the other kids make school look like so much fun. I could just squeeze the dickens out of that little gal.

The boys look so handsome...Carter's shirt rocks!

The girls...gorgeous and so grown-up. That kind of stinks for me but is wonderful for them.

You are a good mama. xox
