ramblings

As the summer draws nearer and the school year to an end, a piece of my heart is a little sad. This little guy has been my partner during the school year for quite a while now, and because he is my fourth, I have learned that as they start school a little something is lost. I have loved dropping him off at pre-school this year as we have developed a body language for saying goodbye for the two hours of pre-school twice a week. When does this end?? I can tell you my big kids aren't saying goodbye to me like this each morning before they head out the door for the day!

I am excited to have my kids home for the summer. I adore summertime. . . slower mornings, kids home, relaxed schedules, little projects, family vacation. And with school in the fall, I am left to just one child home with me all day. Someone once said to me when I had a houseful of little kids not yet in school; "once they start school, the years just disappear". They do go fast, I hope I am making them count!

Sweet boy. Time is fleeting and so precious (especially with little ones), and we can't make it go any slower. You remind me that we can make it count by living in the moment and being grateful.

I love that you took a picture of this.

Yay for summer!

Oh, that is so cute! Love that you got pictures of this, you'll treasure them when he's older. Is he doing all day kindergarten? I know what you mean about losing something when they start school, I'm so sad that Caden will be gone all day next year.

That little Nathan is so darn cute! I love seeing his little signs! You are a great mother and I know you are making the time count! Love and miss you!

That post made me feel a little tender. The rhythm of school does make the years tick by a little quicker. I'm glad I've got little ones at home with me still.

I have to confess that just today I wondered what it must be like for Mom to be able to take a nap without and babies crying to wake her up (not that she has nothing to keep her busy nowadays). I fantasized for a moment about quiet afternoons in my future - but truth be told, I like the sandy little shoes that crowd my doorways.

He is so cute! You are such a good mom, I am dreading summer because I am going to have to battle the boredom! Here's to a peaceful summer.
