Oceanside 70.3

This last weekend Doug and I travelled to Oceanside, CA where Doug participated in his first half Ironman. Doug has done other traithalons in the past, but this was his first swim, bike, run at this distance. He had trained hard and had been anticipating this race for a long time. It was so neat to be able to witness all the hard work and training pay off.

Early in the morning, making our way to the transition area to set up.

Doug's wave started at 7:03 am.

Swim Time: 36:20

Bike Time: 2:46:47

Run time: 2:13:28

Finishing: 5:48:47

This is a great example of "work". And I applaud you on the pics. It all goes so fast and I know how hard it is. My husband did a sprint tri last summer and I struggled to get pics. He's scheduled for an olympic triathlon this June. Maybe I'll get better pics this time, as the events are longer. Good job.

I am kindof blog stalking right now but that is quite an accomplishment. What a great way to document how awesome he did. Man.... a half ironman is NEVER in my future. I am sticking with the sprint triathlons! Ha.
Your family is gorgeous. Congrats on having such a fun family!!!!!

What does a guy need to do to get copies of some of those amazing pictures?

Particularly the last one. Can you e-mail me a higher-resolution image?

We're glad you were there.

Wow I feel sick just looking at the pictures! I had no idea that doug really was an ironman! I guess I should get myself to walk on the treadmill.
