First Day of School

Back to School shopping done, prayers said, lunches packed, and off they go. I love this time of year and all that comes with it.  What a fun summer we have had, it's hard to say good bye to those slow quiet mornings of summer, all the family time and vacations, and care free days. But, too much of anything is not good and it is definitely time to get back to business and develop a more consistent schedule in our family. It does feel good to wake up early and get the show on the road. It's going to be a great year!

Girlfriends

I had such a fun couple of days with two of my girlfriends who made the trip from Salt Lake to visit me. It was so nice to be able to spend time together, let the kids play, eat yummy treats, and visit about everything.  I love these girls, thanks for making the trip.

The language of friendship is not words but meanings.

While the girls were here we spent a morning playing dress-up's at my friend Audrey's house. She is an awesome photographer and has such a neat studio with lot's of fun things for little girls.  Here are a couple of my favorites. Thanks Audrey for letting us come play:)

Day 98

It is only when we silent the blaring sounds of our daily existence that we can finally hear the whispers of truth that life reveals to us, as it stands knocking on the doorsteps of our hearts.

Day 97

I love to see the temple. I'll go inside someday.
I'll covenant with my Father; I'll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I've learned this truth:
A family is forever.

Day 92

stung by a bee :(

We're back . . .

and it feels so good. We have had such a busy summer with a lot of fun trips. Our vacation to Carpinteria was a blast. I love spending time with family, and camping trips are always a big hit with the kids. About this trip I want to  remember. . . walks to Foster's, sandy kids, warm showers, camp fires, Kelsie discovering the ocean, scorched marshmallow's, hobo's, Santa Barbara shopping, gopher's, four square smashball, cool beach air, the way it fees to swim in the Ocean, mafia, Tacos to Go, Claire taking care of business, Donut runs, Mitch screaming at bath time, Sea Foam, Ed's Dutch Oven Cooking, my two brother's sand-free immaculate tents, Farmer's Market, giant sand crabs, and long beautiful day's on the beach.

Day 91

Abby's Beach Walker's.
Walking Barefoot on the tar pits.

Day 90

Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin'
Full time to floatin'
Under the sea.
-The Little Mermaid

Day 89

"I've never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful."

Day 88

It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves.
-Andre Gide

Day 87

Music washes away from the soul the dust of every day live.
-Berthold Averbacch

Day 86

There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart.
-Celia Thaxter

Day 85

"Good fathers make good sons"

Day 84

The countenance is the portrait of the soul, and the eyes mark it's intentions.
-Cicero

Day 83

Sand Crab: A very common and familiar burrowing crab on sandy beaches in Southern California, showing some impressive adaptations for it's sandy habitat. Sand crabs are a major food source for shore birds and for some kinds of fish.

Day 82

To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.
-Clara Ortega
